This entry-level accountant position in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, involves handling financial records, preparing budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring accurate reporting for public funds in the mental health and intellectual disability department.
You'll support a fiscal officer by reconciling accounts, maintaining ledgers, and auditing assets, all while following standard accounting rules.

As an Accountant 1, you will participate and adjust the General Ledger, back account reconciliations, and report general data.
This position supports fiscal integrity by assisting the Fiscal Operations Officer 2 with budget preparation, expenditure tracking, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
You will have the opportunity to develop accounting expertise while contributing to the efficient and accountable use of public funds.
Additional work in this role consists of maintaining the Chart of Accounts to ensure expenses are properly tracked and supervising fiscal assistant data entry to ensure proper expense coding to various programs and accounts when the County Fiscal officer is unavailable.
You will also direct and audit Beaver County Behavioral Health's (BCBH) fixed assets and monitor BCBH time study to ensure proper expense division of all overhead, payroll, and direct expenses annually.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Telework: After successful completion of probationary period, 1-2 days per week telework may be possible depending of needs of office.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Beaver Falls. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
