About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the Youth Programs.
This is a NAF (Non-Appropriated Fund) position assigned to the 31st Force Support Squadron at Aviano AB, Italy. Who May Apply: Open to everyone.

An applicant's eligibility will be determined based on eligibility claimed in the questionnaire and proof of eligibility MUST be provided with application by the closing date, 01/26/2026 The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is US Citizens or NATO country citizens with a valid US permanent resident card and Social Security Number.
In accordance with the Status of Forces agreement between Italy and the US, you must be at Aviano AB on orders and be a US citizen or citizen of a NATO country with a US permanent resident card.
Italian citizens may not apply for US NAF positions; however, may be eligible for local national positions on base. Must be able to provide documentation proving residence status overseas.
Legal US residents must possess a social security number and be citizens of a NATO country. The 31ST Force Support Squadron is not currently providing logistical support.
Applicants must provide proper documentation indicating they are already a supported member of Aviano AB.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience: Knowledge of recreation and leisure program planning concepts, principles, and methodology and practices relating to physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development of youth.
Knowledge of youth activities regulatory requirements, policies and practices. Major Duties:
Typical duties may include issuing recreation equipment, maintain hand receipts and collects all inventoried items after damage inspection, maintain status of fields/facilities, and interacts with families.
Identifies age-appropriate equipment for procurement, selects vendor, purchases gear/equipment when needed. Issues/receives recreational equipment to/from authorized users.
Ensures sufficient supplies are on hand and equipment is in good condition to support the sports and fitness program to include any safety concerns.
Instruct children/youth on proper use of a variety of equipment. Assists in setting up sports events and may assist in athletic programs such as fun runs or base wide events as needed.
Maintains an effective safety and accident prevention program. Conducts daily safety and maintenance checks of facilities, grounds, and outdoor recreation areas.
Ensures no observable hazard exists in program areas e.g.
walks the playing/practice surface looking for debris and other hazards, evaluates fences, bleachers, and other structures for potential hazards prior to youth play.
Responsible for upkeep and maintenance of fields/facilities. Ensures fields are properly marked/lined prior to games/practice.
Operates various types of equipment in support of athletic field maintenance such as lawn mowers, tractors with attachments, edging and pruning tools, trimmers, rakes, and trucks.
Applies fertilizer, seeds, and herbicides as needed. Accurately and timely fills out incident/accident reports for any injuries or accidents during sporting events reports to the chain of command.
Ensures all policies and procedures are carried out by parents, volunteers, and youth during sporting events. Performs other related duties as assigned.
