THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a YELLOW RIBBON PROGRAMS SPECIALIST, Position Description Number T5334000 and is part of the PA Joint Staff, National Guard.

1 or more Position(s) may be hired against this Announcement. INDEFINITE APPOINTMENT STATUS: EXCEPTED This is a Title 5 Excepted Service position in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Bargaining Position AOC A: NG employees at the Joint Staff J9 Service Member Family Services AOC B: NG employees in the Joint Staff J9 (This includes Joint Staff J9, Integrated Primary Workforce, Sexual Assault Prevention, and Equal Employment Opportunity) AOC C: NG Employees of the Pennsylvania National Guard AOC D: All Service Members of the Pennsylvania National Guard AOC E: Federal Employees in an Agency outside of the Pennsylvania National Guard AOC F: U.S.

Childress GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Application must indicate at least 24 months experience providing technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled.

Knowledge and understanding of administrative procedures and practices of management. Experience developing administrative procedures. QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itself qualifying.

Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed.

The applicant's record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled.

Major Duties:

As a Yellow Ribbon Program Specialist, GS-0301-09, you will assist with the planning, development, coordination, implementation, and daily administration of the YRRP to include the contracting of conference facilities, lodging, meals, and professional onsite child care.

Serve as an advisor on the YRRP Program and family program issues relevant to the service members and their families during the deployment cycle, with the intent of maximizing readiness of the service members and their families.

Assist in planning, maintaining, and updating an ongoing system of information and referrals for use by the military community.

Provide necessary assistance to units and/or individuals to ensure accomplishment of all Deployment Cycle Support tasks during appropriate phases of the deployment cycles to include coordinating reception activities, briefings, training, and spouse/family education.

Perform other duties as assigned.
