To qualify for a Writer-Editor, your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position.
To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector.
Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement.
Creditable specialized experience includes: Utilizes a high level of writing and editing expertise to apply extensive analysis and research findings to detailed project test and evaluation results in order to determine acceptability of training projects, equipment, and AV systems for specified programs under contract specifications.
Writes and edits for a variety of audiences to ensure that process materials are clear and promote thorough understanding among intended audiences.
Uses functions such as SharePoint, Adobe Pro, PowerPoint, and large file transfer programs, and operates a personal computer or computer terminal using a standard typewriter style keyboard with additional function keys to produce work and operate related equipment such as laptops, tablets, Wifi hotspots and printers.
Advises on alternate options for printing training and other materials, including the use of color, choice of binding to facilitate the utility of material, choice of paper, use of tabs, and the effects of costs, quality and effectiveness of presentation of the various alternatives.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
