Job Description
The WR Service Associate will provide intermediate level of support to customers and department personnel regarding County policies, water-related issues, and customer complaints. This position will be responsible for receiving, processing and documenting incoming calls from internal and external customers, and communicating with the appropriate personnel to resolve customer concerns. This is a 24-hr operation and incumbents may be required to work 8-hr or 12-hr shifts, overnight shift, weekends, and/or holidays.

Essential Duties
  • Dispatch appropriate personnel based on information received from customers, and department policies and procedures
  • Enter, maintain and document work requests in appropriate systems
  • Communicate with customers via phone to provide status updates, complete documentation and required reports
  • Monitor pump stations and document alarms
  • Collect information from field personnel as needed and report to appropriate agencies
  • Prepare spill communication to the EPD and other agencies as required
  • Monitor camera and security alarms for all Departments of Water Resources facilities including 911 call alerts
  • Request underground utility locates
  • Perform other duties of a similar nature or level
Other Job Requirements/Information
  • This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours, weekends, and/or holidays.
Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.

Minimum Qualifications

WR Service Associate I - Grade A12(1)
  • High School Diploma, or G.E.D. AND
  • One year of customer service experience
WR Service Associate II - Grade B22(1)
  • High School Diploma, or G.E.D. AND
  • Two years of call center service experience
*An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
