This job involves acting as a judge for workers' compensation cases in Pennsylvania, where you'll listen to disputes between injured workers, employers, and insurance companies, review evidence and medical records, and make fair decisions to resolve claims.
It's ideal for experienced lawyers who enjoy detailed legal analysis, mediating conflicts, and ensuring everyone gets a fair hearing.
You'll also help guide people without lawyers and sometimes teach others about these laws.

In this role, you will be managing hundreds of cases in a prompt and efficient manner while protecting the due process rights of all parties.
Work involves resolving conflicts in evidence or expert opinion by determining credibility after a review of extensive hearing testimony, evidence of record, written arguments of attorneys, and applicable case law, then drafting findings of fact, conclusions of law, and orders based thereon.
You will be required to maintain familiarity with medical anatomy and terminology, medical diagnostic procedures, surgical procedures, as well as treatment and medication modalities, including the reading of hospital and physicians' records.
You will also have the opportunity to employ your extensive alternative dispute resolution training to mediate cases in order to facilitate settlement of disputed issues under the Workers' Compensation Act.
