This job involves creating and managing online strategies to help people easily find and understand information about trademarks on the USPTO website.
It focuses on designing user-friendly web pages, analyzing how visitors interact with the site, and improving digital communication based on feedback.

This position is located in the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Office of the Deputy Commissioner for Trademark Examination Policy.
The position develops and executes trademark web communication strategies to identify customer segments, improve digital engagement, and support delivery of clear, accessible information through effective online communication.
You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position.

Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped applicants with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled.
To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, the next lower grade level is a GS-12.
Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience applying web design, web writing, and usability principles and using content management systems (e.g., Drupal, SharePoint) to develop, manage, and publish web content; Experience managing the web content lifecycle to develop page layouts, wireframes, and mockups with a variety of tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe Creative Suite); Experience applying analytical methods to evaluate customer feedback and web performance data from multiple sources (e.g., website traffic statistics, usability testing, surveys, and call center inquiries) and making recommendations to improve delivery of information through websites; and Experience applying web-based communication principles, methods, and techniques to develop strategies and implement new approaches to complex web content and customer communication challenges.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

The physical worksite for this position is located in Alexandria, Virginia.
Presence at the Alexandria, VA campus is required for this role, as it includes on site functions that must be performed in person.
Position may be eligible for situational telework in accordance with agency policy/business unit discretion. The agency currently allows for 52 hours of telework per calendar year.

Develop and implement web-based communication strategies to improve customer access to information and enhance the effectiveness of digital communications.
Plan, develop, and manage web content using web design, web writing, and usability principles and content management systems to ensure information is accurate, accessible, and easy for customers to understand.
Analyze website performance metrics, usability testing results, and customer feedback from multiple sources to identify trends and recommend improvements to website content and functionality.
Collaborate with program offices, leadership, and stakeholders to coordinate web content development, ensure consistent messaging, and support organizational objectives.
