Summary

This job involves helping people with disabilities in South Carolina find and keep competitive jobs by providing counseling, assessments, and job placement support, while also building relationships with community partners for referrals.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Mental Health, or in any field with professional experience in human services or social services
  • Effective communication skills to build and maintain relationships with clients, employers, vendors, and coworkers
  • Ability to apply logical thinking to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw conclusions
  • Experience or skills in vocational counseling, guidance, and job placement
  • Capability to conduct vocational assessments and develop individualized employment plans
  • Proficiency in caseload management and coordinating community referrals
  • Valid driver’s license with clean 10-year driving record (required for interview)

In this position you will perform the following job duties:

In this position you will perform the following job duties:
  • Prepare & assist eligible South Carolinians with disabilities to achieve and maintain competitive employment by coordinating services to include vocational counseling, guidance, job search and direct placement.
  • Develop and maintain community relationships that result in referrals and applications for SCVR services
  • Conduct and coordinate vocational assessments and career exploration that leads to the development of an individualized plan for employment (IPE).
  • Complete caseload management activities weekly
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

Requirements


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology or Mental Health
    or
    Bachelor’s Degree in any other field with professional experience in human services, social services or related field is preferred.
  • Should be able to communicate effectively to establish and maintain effective working relationships with consumers, vendors, employers, and coworkers.
  • Must be able to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
If invited to interview, please obtain your Official 10 year driving record from the Department of Motor Vehicles to bring with you.

Official transcripts will be required to verify college degree.
