GS-09 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Performing basic photo editing and image manipulation using standard software tools to enhance visual products; (2) Researching visual content sources such as stock photography or icons to recommend appropriate selections for projects; and (3) Organizing and/or maintaining digital photo libraries for quick access during projects.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position.
(Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18.
Add the two percentages.
GS-11 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Designing and producing visual materials such as graphics, illustrations, and multimedia presentations to support command briefings and conferences; (2) Advising personnel on visual information policies to ensure compliance in all visual materials; and (3) Providing technical expertise on the development and production of multimedia materials, including video and photographic content.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D.
or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position.
(Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
