Job Description

Summary

This job involves supporting adult victims of sexual assault and harassment in the Navy by providing emotional care, explaining services, and coordinating with other agencies to ensure they get the help they need.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a VICTIM ADVOCATE (SAPR) in the Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC), Fleet and Family Readiness Department (N9), Family Readiness Division (N91), Fleet and Family Support Program (FFSP), Bahrain Island, Bahrain In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-09) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Managing administrative and operational functions for department efficient and effective operation; AND 2.

Monitoring all administrative functions within the Office to ensure transparency and operational effectiveness; AND 3.

Assisting with files and management of reports, instructions, and directives for proper record-keeping and easy retrieval; AND 4.

Reviewing the format of documentation such as evaluations, awards, and memorandums for submission to management. NOTE: Your resume must support the minimum qualification specialized experience.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will serve as a SAPR Victim Advocate (VA), facilitating care and providing non-clinical support to adult victims of a sexual assault and sexual harassment.
  • You will serve on the 24/7 SAPR watch bill, providing 24/7 support for victims’ immediate needs.
  • You will Explain all available SAPR services to the victim and conduct a warm hand-off to the equal opportunity office for official reporting of sexual harassment.
  • You will provide a wide range of essential support and advocacy services, liaison services, and care to victims of sexual harassment.
  • You will maintain support and follow-up contact with sexual harassment victims throughout the lifecycle of the case.
  • You will establish liaisons with local victim support agencies in order to gain support and cooperation in achieving support for victims of sexual harassment and to promote the enhancement of sexual harassment services.
  • You will collaborate with the SARC on developing and coordinating SAPR public awareness campaigns and local events, and on implementing primary prevention initiatives to aid in eliminating sexual assault incidents before they occur.
