Full Job Description

This position is part of the Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute (SIPI), Bureau of Indian Education (BIE), Department of the Interior (DOI).

As a Vice President of College Operations you will be responsible for overseeing all administrative and non-academic or student support technical functions for the college.

Applicants must meet the qualification requirements contained in the OPM Standards. For this position, they are listed below.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.

To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.

GS-14: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the federal service.

Examples include: experience in facilities oversight, IT oversight, security oversight, finance oversight; demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills that ensure both formal communication and informal communication; experience with fiscal funding programs; overseeing employees both in-person and virtual and with a variety of skill levels.

Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year (52 weeks) of service at the next lower grade level. Learn more about what is time-in grade.

As a Support Services Manager (Vice President of College Operations), GS-0301-14, your typical work assignments will include the following under supervision: Serve as Vice President of College Operations supporting the President on multi-functional, technical, and administrative programs establishing policy, providing direction, guidance and management of all support service programs including but not limited to: IT, Finance, Facilities, Safety and Contract/Acquisitions.

Act as key advisor to President and as such liaise and coordinate human resources management actions, budget and finance, acquisitions, property management, and other administrative support to SIPI.

Administer general support/operations programs for SIPI and coordinates the property and supply management program; facilities management; and Security management.

Oversee the development, maintenance and completion of master plans for facilities and technology, ensuring alignment with SIPI's mission, vision and other related plans of the College.

Ensure effective and efficient management and operations of all key positions and programs under College Operations.
