About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Air Force Marathon at Wright-Patt AFB.
Assist in developing, implementing, and managing marketing programs for the United States Air Force Marathon (USAFM).
The position includes paid holidays, annual and sick leave accrual, as well as optional participation in Group Health, Dental and Life Insurance plans, Retirement, 401K and Flexible Benefits plans.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience: A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or Communications. A minimum of two years business experience in marketing, advertising, or promotions.
Knowledge of using various media platforms to include but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Constant Contact/Mailchimp, etc.
Knowledge and ability to apply principles of visual design and knowledge of technical characteristics associated with methods of visual display. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite desirable.
Ability to communicate with customers, co-workers, supervisors, management, volunteers, and the general public in a tactful, courteous, and professional manner.
Strong attention to details and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects under short suspenses. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Must possess the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision while acting in the best interest of the United States Air Force. Willingness to travel and work various weekends and long hours.
Must possess a valid driver's license. This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
Must be able to satisfactorily complete all required background checks. Major Duties:
Assist in developing, implementing, and managing marketing programs for the United States Air Force Marathon (USAFM).
Under direction of the USAFM Director, assist in determining marketing techniques and strategies to increase efficiency, enhance participant, and increase financial income to the marathon.
Publicizes marathon for the Area of Responsibilities of Afghanistan, Iraq, Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Kyrgyzstan bases within these areas.
Assist in conducting qualitative and quantitative market research.
Using standard industry practice, computer software and/or instruments such as desktop publishing, word processing, spreadsheets, web development, video editing, and graphics software programs specifically developed for use with the marathon.
Closely follows and analyses consumer trends and their application to the events. Administers surveys, collects data, tabulates responses, and assists the Marathon Director in analyzing results.
Makes recommendations on program modifications and enhancements. Assists in the outreach of volunteer recruitment.
Develops and maintains a thorough marketing calendar across various marketing platforms to reach and engage past, present, and future customers. Administers the advertising campaigns.
Develops and maintains the USAFM website. Assist the Marathon Director in developing communication strategies to determine the most effective advertising and appropriate media mix.
Assist in planning campaigns that effectively highlight and increase participation at all events of USAFM weekend.
Assist in conducting media relations on and off base in coordination with the Public Affairs Office.
Prepare and presenting briefings on marketing expenditures, trends, and surveys to various agencies on base.
Responsible for creating, developing, and producing program flyers, brochures, pamphlets, posters, calendars, and news articles, and news releases in support of the USAFM and related events.
Must be able to work flexible schedule to include nights and weekends as required. Must be able to drive government vehicles to events and training. Must possess a valid driver's license.
