The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the primary point of contact to the squadron commander/director for all administrative support programs to include but not limited to task management, Cybersecurity Liaison, Government Travel Card program, Defense Travel System, Government Purchase Card program, and assists in organization manpower resource requirements.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems.
Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of an extensive body of policies and procedures governing the overall unit administrative and orderly room operations to include routing of correspondence; advising others on preparing correspondence, requirements for various reports, and interpreting new instructions and procedures; knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and precedents affecting deployment operations and the administrative processes and documentation requirements to ensure deployment readiness; knowledge of various office automation software processing procedures and function keys to produce a wide range of documents and to update and revise existing databases or spreadsheets; skill to prepare reports, and organize and give briefings to managers regarding deployment operations; skill in preparing written forms, schedules, and reports related to the obligation and expenditures of funds by applying applicable procedures and guidelines.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible.
One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1.
Knowledge of the organizational and functional responsibilities and operations of an organization. 2.
Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs.
3. Knowledge of structure, programs, and work methods of organization for personnel/manning issues. 4.
Skill in fact-finding, problem analysis, problem resolutions, and development of concrete action plans to solve problems. 5.
Ability to gather, analyze and present facts, communicate effectively, using tact and courtesy and posses the ability to plan, organize work, and meet deadlines. 6.
Ability to plan and organize management programs and functions of an organization. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:
Directly assists the commander/director in the management of all administrative support program functions. Serves as the resident subject matter expert for all mandated administrative support programs.
Serves as the organizational point of contact and liaison with the personnel flight on military and civilian personnel issues.
Assists in planning, administering, and monitoring manpower resource requirements. Performs other clerical and administrative work in support of the office/organization.
