The Loudoun County Department of Transportation and Capital Infrastructure (DTCI) is seeking a self-motivated Transportation Program Manager with the special projects team. Located within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, Loudoun County has been recognized as one of the fastest growing counties in the United States. Requirements

The Loudoun County Department of Transportation and Capital Infrastructure (DTCI) is seeking a self-motivated Transportation Program Manager with the special projects team. Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Managing multiple studies and projects, which may include corridor and speed management studies and development of local road safety plans.
• Making recommendations to resolve complex roadway safety and operational issues based on engineering principles in compliance with federal, state, and county policies and regulations.
• Working with federal, state and local transportation agencies and other Loudoun County departments.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state and county regulations.
• Effectively conveying complex technical ideas verbally and in writing.
• Managing contracts in accordance with county policies.
• Conducting public meetings.

We are seeking an individual with:
• Strong project management and leadership skills.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Ability to comprehend technical and traffic analysis reports and engineering drawings.
• Prior experience presenting findings to the public and elected officials.
• Ability to interpret traffic analysis reports.
• Ability to provide prompt and effective customer service to various stakeholders.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and have prior public speaking experience.
• Ability to reason and solve problems in a collaborative manner.
• Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive tasks in a fast-paced work environment.

This position is eligible for partial telework in accordance with County and Department Policies. Flexible scheduling is also available to address required meeting attendance outside of normal business hours.

Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in a related field; four (4) years of related work experience; or equivalent\combination of education and experience.

Additional Information

The position requires occasional attendance at night meetings to present information to the Board of Supervisors and/or other stakeholder groups.

A valid driver's license is required.

Employment is contingent upon successful background check completion, to include criminal, credit, and driving record checks.
