This entry-level engineering role involves helping inspect and manage construction projects for roads and highways, such as pavement markings, guardrails, and erosion control, to ensure they meet safety and quality standards.
The job includes supervising technicians, keeping records, and handling fieldwork in various weather conditions.

(Bamberg Construction Unit) Assists with the performance and management of construction inspections on thermoplastic, raised pavement markers, guardrail and other projects.
Assists with the use of AASHTOware Project, keeping field notes and diaries. Monitors construction projects for compliance with plans, specifications and standards.
Supervises Engineer Technician and completes yearly evaluations. Assists with project closeout duties.
Monitors projects QA/QC, erosion control and traffic control activities for compliance with approved plans. Performs other related duties as assigned.
A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science and Management; or an approved acceptable equivalence. A valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required.
The physical demands for the essential functions of this position involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. This position may require travel.
This position may require bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, climbing, balancing, and kneeling.
This position required driving and walking for extended periods, treading rough and uneven terrain, working in close proximity to motoring traffic, and natural environmental hazards.
May be required to work outside of normal work schedule, especially during inclement weather and/or other departmental-related emergencies.
This position may be exposed to outside environment in all weather conditions and noise.
