The Opportunity
WSDOT is currently seeking a Transportation Engineer 4 to manage and coordinate construction oversight activities for Eastern Region Development Services, supporting projects proposed by developers, tribal nations, port districts, and other partners.
This position leads the review of design and construction plans, coordinates contract plan reviews and construction inspections along state highway facilities, and ensures all work complies with WSDOT standards and technical, legal, and procedural requirements.
The Transportation Engineer 4 supports the Development Services Manager by coordinating with developers, WSDOT Headquarters, and local agencies; responding to engineering inquiries; conducting field reviews for ADA compliance; and providing monthly status reports on active construction projects.
The position may also assist Regional Project Development staff during peak demand and support planning office sections with engineering analyses, concept plans, cost estimates, and related functions.

Qualifications
To be considered for this opportunity, the following competencies are required:
Transportation Engineering and Construction Expertise: Advanced knowledge of highway engineering principles, design standards, quality assurance, and construction practices supporting safety, accessibility, and multimodal transportation goals.
Experience reviewing modal construction plans for accuracy and preparing recommendations for senior management decision making.
