This job involves working outdoors on highway construction sites in Pennsylvania, inspecting materials like concrete and asphalt to ensure they meet safety and quality standards, and coordinating with teams and the public to keep projects on track.

As a Transportation Construction Inspector, you will perform a variety of technical duties in the inspection of materials and workmanship on highway construction projects within Engineering District 3-0 to ensure all work is completed in conformance with approved construction codes, plans, standards, and specifications.
You will also monitor the proper placement of various materials, including cement concrete, asphalt, and drainage materials, as well as other relevant materials.
Additionally, you will utilize your communication skills by engaging with department personnel, federal, state, and local agencies, legislators, and the public to ensure the smooth and efficient management of all projects.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) ad-hoc, as approved, after successful completion of the probationary period.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Montoursville. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
