Job Description

Summary

This role involves overseeing budgets and timelines for transportation projects, handling administrative tasks like reports and contracts, and serving as a point of contact for public questions on traffic safety initiatives.

It also includes coordinating meetings with teams and stakeholders to keep projects on track.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science and Management
  • Four (4) years of engineering or construction management work experience (or approved equivalence)
  • Valid motor vehicle operator's license
  • Ability to manage project funding, budgets, and expenditures through construction completion
  • Experience developing and managing project schedules and strategies
  • Skills in preparing reports, cost estimates, correspondence, and project documents
  • Capability to handle public inquiries, organize meetings, and facilitate project coordination

Full Job Description

Manages project funding and budgets, including expenditures for projects for compliance with budget through completion of construction, develops and manages project schedules, and recommends strategies and plans to ensure schedules are met. Assists with administrative duties relating to managing internal and consultant projects including preparing monthly updates, cost estimates, P2S requests, correspondences and other projects documents. Serves as contact for public inquiries related to Traffic Safety projects. Prepares correspondence to inform or answer questions and requests from citizens, government officials, meetings, etc. Assists in organizing and conducting public meetings. Assists in coordination and facilitation of project scoping meetings, field reviews, and other project meetings with essential personnel and outside entities. Assists in developing Highway Safety Improvement Safety project consultant contracts including project scopes, man-hour estimates, schedules and negotiations. Performs other related duties as assigned.

























Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science and Management and four (4) years of engineering or construction management work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence. A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required.

The physical demands for the essential functions involves sitting or standing at a desk for extended periods of time. This position may require occasional travel. May require bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, climbing, balancing, and kneeling. Walking for extended periods, treading rough terrain, working in close proximity to motoring traffic, and in natural environmental hazards. May be required to work outside normal business hours or respond to emergency situations.
