The primary purpose of this position is to assist in the management of the technical training program, formal school training, and aircrews manning and qualification levels for the 60th Air Mobility Wing Operations group, Operations Support Squadron, Air Mobility Training Element; and in providing staff advisory assistance to the Wing Commander , Operations Group .
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, for the GS-1702, Education and Training Technician Series.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-6, or equivalent in other pay systems.
Examples of specialized experience includes Knowledge of and skill in applying a comprehensive body of training rules, procedures, and technical methods; knowledge of overall phases of the Air force and AMC training programs to determine most expedient means/methods for implanting changes in air operations and aircrew education an training programs.; practical knowledge of training techniques and principles to assist in the planning and execution of the air operations and aircrew training programs; skill in written and oral communications.
OR EDUCATION: Successfully completed graduate level education in a field directly related to this position which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible.
One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of the 60th AMW (AMC) and 349th AMW (AFRC) missions as related to aircrew mission objectives and aircrew integration.
Knowledge of aircrew-based programs and objectives in order to identify training requirements, skill upgrades, and development programs that will assist in meeting the 60th AMW aircrew training and operations objectives.
Knowledge and ability to analyze operations training plans and requirements, identify weaknesses, and resolve technical problems.
Ability to communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing, in orders to resolve conflicts, provide guidance and accomplish necessary reports required by higher headquarters.
Ability y to gather facts and use effective, analytical and evaluative methods to accurately assess information and make sound decisions and reaccommodations.
Ability to interpret and manage Unit Manning Documents (UMDs). PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).
