The primary purpose of this position is: To conduct training on any or all phases of the information management career field.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Training Instruction Series 1712 *** THIS IS A CCAF POSITION *** For Community College of the Air Force GS-1712 positions only: Section 9315 of 10 USC directs the commander of the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) to comply with standards established by the Secretary of Education to confer associate degrees upon enlisted members who have completed the requirements for the prescribed programs of study.
To comply with this directive, all faculty members of the Community College of the Air Force must meet minimum educational requirements as prescribed by the accrediting body Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC), i.e.
all teachers must hold at least an associate degree in order for the school to meet accreditation criteria. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcript.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems.
Examples of specialized experience includes: Knowledge of instructional methodologies, classroom control techniques, testing procedures, counseling procedures.
Knowledge of the AF pubs library, the AF forms library, AF files management software and procedures, Privacy Act requirements, the base mail distribution system, official correspondence formats, the AF Directory of Addresses, deployment/AEF procedures, Microsoft Office applications programs, building Web pages, the AF Portal, operating systems, network administration, print management, network security, email management, and system troubleshooting.
Specialized knowledge of information management, administration and computers.
OR EDUCATION: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related.

OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least100%.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible.
One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1.
Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of instruction. 2. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. 3.
Knowledge of training aids and devices used in training programs. 4. Specialized knowledge of information management and computers. 5. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
6. Knowledge of instructional design and materials development for assigned courses. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Major Duties:
Conducts classroom, laboratory or field instruction. Provides explanations, conducts lectures/demonstrations and assigns exercises or problems as directed by the training objectives.
Makes entries in automated student tracking systems such as TTMS. Attends system training to attain workable knowledge. Monitors and evaluates student progress and performance.
Maintains, updates or develops training materials specific to assigned courses when designated as the Subject Matter Expert (SME). Counsels students to identify and help resolve problems.
