Basic Requirements: Human Resources will determine your qualifications for each entry grade level based on your interest and the additional following criteria.

Resumes for federal government positions need more detailed work descriptions and accomplishments than a typical private sector resume.

GS-09: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-07) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

Specialized experience is defined as: Assisting in the development and delivery of specialized courses, modifying training guides and visual aids, and evaluating training programs to ensure alignment with functional skills and organizational needs.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong communication skills are required to create effective training materials.

GS-09 Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement.

Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-07 or higher grade in Federal Service.

Major Duties:

  • Present in-house functional training programs for Retired and Annuitant Pay (R/A) personnel.
  • Assist in higher graded training staff development of new courses through researching pertinent publications and verifying information.
  • Ensures that all required training aids, material, and equipment are readily available and present for each class session and in sufficient supply
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training activities within prescribed areas.
  • Continuously revise lesson plans for such things as to meet new training requirements and to keep technical information up to date.
  • Maintain of student/class records as a part of this duty.
