Full Job Description

The National Indian Gaming Commission's primary mission is to work within the framework created by the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA) for the regulation of gaming activities conducted by tribes on Indian lands to fully realize IGRA's goals: (1) promoting tribal economic development, self-sufficiency and strong tribal governments; (2) maintaining the integrity of the Indian gaming industry; and (3) ensuring that tribes are the primary beneficiaries of their gaming activities.

To qualify for this vacancy, you must meet either A or B below. In addition to meeting A or B below, you must have demonstrated mastery of Excel.

Experience with Power BI/Automate is desired, but not required. A.

Education A Bachelor's degree (or higher level degree) in business administration, management, training development, human resources or related course of study from an accredited university or college AND at least two (2) years of experience as a training coordinator or office manager.

OR B. Specialized Experience Minimum of four (4) years' experience as a training coordinator or office manager in a fast paced environment.

All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Major Duties:

The position serves as the National Indian Gaming Commission's Training Program Coordinator, reporting to the Training Manager under the Office of the Chief of Staff.

This role is responsible for collecting, organizing, monitoring, and distributing information related to training projects and initiatives.

Seeking a motivated professional who brings creative solutions to streamline processes, enhance collaboration, and elevate the impact of training programs across the Agency.

Major duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Manages the collection, validation, and maintenance of Agency training data in accordance with established requirements, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and readiness for reporting, evaluation, and program planning.

Develops, maintains, and updates the Agency-wide training calendar, coordinating regional trainings, national events, National Training Topic of the Month (NTTM) sessions, site-specific training requests, leadership speaking engagements as required, and other approved outreach activities.

Coordinates training logistics for in-person, virtual, and hybrid events, including scheduling dates and locations, communicating with venues, supporting procurement actions in accordance with Department of the Interior and Agency procedures, and tracking payments and related documentation.

Serves as the Zoom administrator for Agency virtual, hybrid, and live-stream training events, including configuring meetings and webinars, managing registrations and participant access, applying security settings, coordinating recordings, and providing real-time event level technical support to ensure successful delivery.

Applies advanced knowledge of enterprise software and collaboration platforms, including Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook), SharePoint, Zoom, Adobe platforms, and related systems; to support data management, reporting, records compliance, training coordination, and continuous improvement of Training Program operations.

Experience in Power BI/Automate is desired.

Maintains, organizes, reviews, and proofs training materials and resources; coordinates printing, shipping, and delivery of materials to training locations within required timeframes.

Compiles, reviews, and prepares training participation and evaluation data to support post-event reporting, program assessment, leadership briefings, and informed decision making.

Travel, as required, for training and outreach events to serve as the on-site venue liaison, provide administrative and technical support, coordinate with facility and audiovisual staff, and manage in-person event operations.

This position may require physical activity, including lifting, carrying, and shipping training materials and equipment.

This position is in the excepted service and not subject to competitive service procedures. Competitive Civil Service status is not acquired under this appointment.

New appointees to the excepted service must serve a two year trial period. Merit Promotion procedures do not apply.

The NIGC has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for situational telework in accordance with Agency policy.
