Full Job Description

You will serve as a TRAINING AND READINESS PROGRAM SPECIALIST in the TRAINING, EXERCISE AND READINESS DIVISION (N36) of COMMANDER NAVY REGION KOREA .

The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze.

Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Planning, coordinating, providing oversight and continuous assessment of training programs (i.e.

Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (ATFP), Emergency Management (EM),Emergency Preparedness (EP), Command Control and Communication (C3), and Joint Training Plans) to establish and maintain sound and viable Training and Readiness program for a Navy overseas installation.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will establish and/or assess the Region/Installation’s integrated training, readiness and exercise program to establish and determine the execution requirements and when needed develop policies and guidance.
  • You will be responsible for developing and promulgating action plans to correct deficiencies and gaps discovered during assessments in support of HHQs requirements and policies.
  • You will manage and oversee individual workforce training and education for employees and monitor standard metrics to evaluate the performance of individual training across the Region.
  • You will assist in developing strategy and plan to provide continuous evaluation of Installation training and processes, assist in assessing training effectiveness and provide effective feedback to improve training quality and efficiency.
  • You will serve as the Installations Training Team (ITT) Coordinator, responsible for coordination and organization of, the preparation for, and conduct of, installation training.
  • You will manage training and exercise matters to include chemical and biological.
