About the Position: You will serve a Traffic Management Specialist plans and executes military and contracted operational support airlift (OSA) in the US Africa Command area of responsibility (AOR).

Provides transportation and distribution subject matter expertise for the J33.

Serves as a civilian analyst and action officer for resolution and analysis of assigned joint transportation policy, doctrinal, automated information systems (AIS),programmatic, and force execution issues.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).

Major Duties:

  • Serve as the Designated Contracting Officer Representative (COR) for USAFRICOM Operational Support Airlift (OSA) contract.
  • Conduct planning and coordination for the execution of military and contracted airlift in support of USAFRICOM and other U.S. Government Senior Leader transportation requirements in the USAFRICOM area of responsibility (AOR).
  • Plan and executes military and contracted operational support airlift (OSA) in the US Africa Command area of responsibility.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in the areas of transportation and distribution, with emphasis in air transportation planning and execution.
  • Monitor transportation requirements to support current operations, exercises, and senior leader engagements.
  • Serve as a civilian analyst and action officer for resolution and analysis of assigned joint transportation policy, doctrinal, automated information systems (AIS), programmatic, and force execution issues.
  • Perform transportation planning to identify transportation issues and recommend corrective actions based on defense travel regulations and other authorities to enhance airlift and sealift interoperability.
  • Provides division-wide support tracking, assigning and replying to tasks from the Joint Staff, AFRICOM, and other agencies as assigned utilizing the Tasker Management Tool (TMT).
