THIS IS A TITLE 32 DUAL STATUS POSITION DUTY LOCATION: 103d Logistics Readiness Squadron (LRS), East Granby, CT AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION: Area 1: All currently employed full-time permanent and indefinite personnel, assigned to LRS of the Connecticut Air National Guard.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which has provided the applicant with a knowledge of and understanding of administrative, professional, analytical, or other work relating to traffic or transportation programs or operations.
Must be skilled in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume and any other supporting documentation you wish to provide must clearly substantiate you currently possess 36 months of specialized experience in the following: Experience, education, or training performing, administering or supervising technical and analytical work concerned with planning, development and execution of traffic policies and programs.
Experience interpreting applicable Federal, State and local laws, and regulations concerning transportation and traffic procedures.
Experience demonstrating knowledge of transportation requirements and systems for specific geographic areas (International and Continental United States).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of a wide range of traffic management policies, principles and practices as well as an in-depth knowledge of commercial traffic management activities.
Knowledge of industry practices and procedures and established regulations, requirements, and techniques related to the transportation program.
Knowledge of organizational practices and activities and skill in applying this knowledge to plan and accomplish a variety of complex work assignments, and the ability to identify, analyze and resolve transportation issues or problems.
Knowledge of financial/budgetary requirements sufficient to perform monthly reconciliation of all charges associated with the transportation program.

Incumbent will be required to be assigned to compatible military position within 1 year of selection. The selected individual may be required to attend formal technician school training.

For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.

JOB SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to serve as a Distribution Manager, which provides technical expertise and support relating to the movement of equipment, supplies, and personnel for both peacetime and wartime.
Manages, directs, develops, plans, and analyzes deployment and distribution management programs. NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.
This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Connecticut Air National Guard.
The major duties include, but are not limited to: Serves as the sole technical transportation advisor to all statewide or base operating officials on all matters dealing with commercial movement of personnel and equipment.
Manages all materiel distribution activities, including organic ground transportation for cargo and personnel.
Ensures that traffic management and transportation services required to support the mission are accomplished.
Inspects, or provides for inspection of, commercial carrier terminals to locate and expedite delivery of astray government shipments.
Reviews, as required, individual paperwork associated with a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) Personally Performed Moves (PPMs) to ensure requested reimbursement on charges are in line with a commercial PCS move.
