Full Job Description

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a TOOLS AND PARTS ATTENDANT-TITLE 32, Position Description Number PDD1228000 and is part of the KY MATES, National Guard.

***NOTE: Indefinite employment is temporary and is expected to last more than one year but no more than five consecutive years.*** Continued employment is not guaranteed and is subject to annual competition.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT: Experience which demonstrates the knowledge of trade; ability to apply identification skill (matching specific item name, models, and stock or part numbers with similar specific information at stock locations); ability to use simple hand tools (pliers, screwdrivers, etc) and to follow oral and written instructions.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have experience verifying stock by opening, counting and visually checking the contents of the containers.

Experience establishing stock location by considering such factors as use, size, shape and weight of items.

Experience in completing stock records by showing the names, quantities and location of stock.

Experience in identifying correct nomenclature and stock number of items in order to locate stock for issue.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Resume must have complete dates, work schedule, and/or hours worked per week for both civilian and military employment.

(Example: 2 JAN 1980 to 3 MAR 1981; 0800-1630 M-F or JAN 1980 to MAR 1981; 40 hrs/wk) Use of year only and unspecified work schedule will result in disqualification.

Major Duties:

As a TOOLS AND PARTS ATTENDANT-TITLE 32, WG-6904-6, you will identify tools, parts, equipment, and requirements and requisitions stock as needed. Watch and report items that are in short supply.

Recommend substitute or interchangeable items. Set up and maintain storage locations. Compile records concerned with quantity, cost, and type of material received, stored, and issued.

Prepare inventory and determine the basis for over, short, or misplaced items. Compile reports of stock, inventory counts, spoilage/damage of stock, location changes, and shipments.

Ensure tools and equipment are maintained by performing checks, taking measurements, and receiving reports from users. May make minor repairs to tools and equipment.

Determine stock replenishment levels for supplies and other material. Review requisitions for compliance with regulations.

Search for stock number, prices, descriptions, sources of supply, or other management data. Code and classify requisitions, shipping orders, and other documents.

May assist Surface Maintenance Mechanics by performing the less complex and routine type duties. May perform maintenance tasks with repairers or mechanics. Clean tools, parts, and equipment.

Perform other duties as assigned.
