This role involves leading and developing training programs for apprentices in toolmaking at a naval shipyard, including teaching trade theories, creating lesson plans, and balancing classroom learning with hands-on work experience.
It's ideal for someone with strong toolmaking expertise who enjoys mentoring others and designing educational content.
A good fit would be an experienced tradesperson passionate about passing on skills to the next generation in a military maintenance setting.
You will serve as a TOOLMAKER TRAINING LEADER for Shop 31 in the Production Department of Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS & IMF).
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
