Requirements

A customer service-based position that provides information and handles all aspects of product sales to customers while providing support to the staff. Daily interaction with customers requires effective communication and public relations skills. Specific duties include but are not limited to:
  • Work directly with customers to greet, answer questions and help them purchase any products.
  • Answer questions about local wildlife, human wildlife conflicts, and state parks.
  • Answer all incoming calls, handle inquiries, and/or direct to appropriate staff.
  • Monitor patrol radios, relay messages, and dispatch to staff.
  • Sell park passes, hunting/fishing licenses, OHV/boat registrations and enter revenue totals on CPW's internet web system.
  • Sell, inventory, and order merchandise.
  • Light cleaning of the Visitor Center facilities and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions and lift 50lbs.
  • Ability to interact positively with the public in various situations.
  • Weekend and evening work may be required.
  • Hunting and fishing experience helpful.
  • Applicants may be subject to successful completion of a comprehensive background check.
  • Must be willing and able to work 40 hours per week


Pursuant to the DNR-120 Fleet and Driving Standards Administrative Directive, any worker who will be expected to drive a State-owned vehicle is responsible for maintaining a safe driving record and a valid driver license prior to driving any State-owned vehicle.

To be compliant with the new fleet vehicle policy, Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs) will be pulled for review for workers who:


  • Have an assigned State fleet vehicle
  • Are required to operate a vehicle as part of the position
  • Utilize a State fleet vehicle as a pool vehicle
