Job Description

Summary

This temporary job involves helping customers with registrations for boats, snowmobiles, and off-highway vehicles, selling park passes and fishing licenses, and providing information in person or over the phone at Colorado Parks and Wildlife.

It's a customer-facing role that requires handling payments and working standard office hours.

A good fit would be someone with customer service experience who enjoys interacting with the public and can work independently or in a team.

THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION (9 MONTHS OR LESS) - PAYING $16.55-$18.50 PER HOUR

Requirements

This position works primarily in a customer-service capacity on a daily basis assisting customers either in-person or over the phone. Duties include but are not limited to:

Process boat, snowmobile, and off-highway vehicle registration applications from customers and/or internal and external agents utilizing data entry software.Sell park passes, permits, fishing licenses and other various passes or licenses.Collect revenue and operate a POS system.Provide registration and park information to customers over the counter or over the phone.

Other duties as assigned.Work hours are Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm except for Holidays Qualifications REQUIREMENTS: Requires prior work experience in a customer-service setting (at least one year is preferred).Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Must have a valid drivers' license or reliable transportation.
  • Previous experience handling money and working with the public is preferred.
  • Previous experience with Word or Excel is helpful.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background screening.
  • Ability to work with little supervision and work well within a team.
  • Possess strong interpersonal communication skills to deliver excellent customer service and telephone skills.

  • WORK CONTEXT:
    In addition to work activities, below is a list of means and manner of conducting
    duties in this position:

    Face to face discussions - Face to face interactions and discussions occur daily.

    Duration of Typical Work Week - The number of hours worked is, on average, but not
    limited to, 40 hours per week. Shifts are 8 hours, with a 1 hour lunch break, and days off are
    weekends and holidays.

    Letters and Memos - Most written communication is handled electronically via email or
    through the postal system.

    Contact With Others - Contact with customers and other CPW employees across the state
    occurs daily and should be considered one of the critical roles for this position.

    Work With Work Group or Team - as explained above, contact with others is critical to the
    position as well working as part of a team.

    Uniforms - The office will provide uniform shirts and jackets.
