This temporary job involves helping maintain and improve wildlife areas in eastern Colorado by doing hands-on tasks like planting trees, fixing fences, operating equipment, and keeping public facilities clean and safe.
It's a support role under experienced staff, perfect for someone who enjoys outdoor work, doesn't mind getting dirty, and wants to contribute to protecting nature for about 9 months.
A good fit would be a reliable, physically fit person with basic mechanical skills and a passion for the environment.

Tree and willow planting Fence building and maintenance General maintenance and cleaning of public facilities, including restrooms, vault toilets, campsites, picnic areas, and trails.Mowing and trimming operations.
Operation of tractors and mowing equipment.Operation of forestry equipment. Operation of herbicide application equipment.Operates and performs routine maintenance on state-owned vehicles and equipment.
Assures quality customer service and facility maintenance, repair, and cleanliness.May assist with carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical work, and transporting materials and supplies.Maintains a working knowledge of and safely operates all relevant equipment and tools, including tractors, mowers, chainsaws,power saws, drills, air compressors, generators, spray equipment, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Note: There is only one position available in this location. The position is up to 40 hours per week and up to nine months in duration.
The rate of pay for this position is fixed and therefore will not change during the season. Hiring and firing is at the supervisor's discretion.REQUIREMENTS:Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a current motor vehicle report. Willing to work outside during inclement weather. Knowledge of power tools and hand tools is preferred.
Knowledge of small engines and other equipment maintenance and repair preferred. Must be able to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays. Possess strong interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work with little to no supervision.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position involves physical activities that require considerable arm and leg use and movement of the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
