Job Description

Summary

This part-time temporary role involves providing basic IT support for Microsoft tools like user accounts, email groups, and password management at a community college, helping faculty and staff with everyday tech issues.

It focuses on troubleshooting simple problems, following security rules, and documenting work to keep things running smoothly.

A good fit would be someone with entry-level IT experience who is detail-oriented, enjoys helping people, and is comfortable with Microsoft software.

Key Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One year of IT support experience
  • Microsoft 365 certification or equivalent technical certification
  • Experience providing break-fix technical support in an enterprise or educational environment
  • Experience with Active Directory and/or Microsoft Entra ID user and group administration
  • One year or more of hands-on experience supporting Microsoft 365 services (e.g., Exchange Online, Entra ID, Teams)
  • Associate’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field

Full Job Description

Serve as first-level support for Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft 365 administrative requests, including:

Username changes, account updates, and basic identity lifecycle tasks.

Creating, modifying, and maintaining Distribution Lists and security groups.

Triage and resolve Level 1 Microsoft 365 service requests and incidents, escalating complex or sensitive issues to senior-level support as appropriate.

Gather, document, and validate the technical information required for escalation, ensuring a complete and accurate issue handoff.

Assist with routine administrative tasks across Microsoft 365 services such as Exchange Online, Entra ID, and related identity systems.

Function as a backup administrator for the Bitwarden password manager, including user access support and basic administrative tasks.

Follow documented procedures, security standards, and change-management practices when performing administrative actions.

Maintain clear documentation of work performed and update internal knowledge bases as needed.

Provide courteous, professional technical support to faculty, staff, and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent, One year of IT Support experience

Qualifications

Microsoft 365 certification or equivalent technical certification.

Experience providing break-fix technical support in an enterprise or educational environment.

Experience with Active Directory and/or Microsoft Entra ID user and group administration.

One year or more of Hands-on experience supporting Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, Entra ID, Teams, etc.).

Associate’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
