Job Description

Summary

This job involves evaluating and improving telecommunications networks for military facilities in the Pacific and West Coast areas, ensuring they meet required performance standards and stay ready for operations.

You'll collect and analyze data from over 145 sites, create reports on risks and strengths, and manage online tools to track quality.

Full Job Description

This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service.

It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.

It is in the Professional Work Category at the Full Performance Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA - OC/PACIFIC.

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

Basic Requirements: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management, or other fields related to the position to be filled.

Other Education: Communications/electronics or automatic data processing training in technical institutes or business schools above the high school level or in Armed Forces schools that included advanced instruction in addition to basic courses, may be substituted for general experience on a month-for-month basis.

OR Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-12, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position.

Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.

For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: experience in conducting performance evaluations of IT infrastructure, identifying deficiencies, and recommending corrective actions to improve network performance and ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements and proven ability to collect, analyze, and visualize performance data to assess system readiness, identify operational risks, and produce comprehensive reports and briefings.

All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement. Major Duties:

  • Serves as a member of a performance evaluation team in support of the technical evaluation of over 145 DISN facilities across the Pacific Theater and the West Coast of the United States.
  • Ensures customers are provided with sustained service that meets the level of performance prescribed by DISA Circulars, Instructions, and individual Service Level Agreements.
  • Conducts Readiness Assessment and Performance Management reporting which includes developing, implementing, and maintaining processes or collecting performance data from site performance evaluations.
  • Analyzes collected data to identify trends and determine a facility or system's level of readiness, identifying areas of strength and risk factors.
  • Develops, updates, and manages the Quality Assurance Branch SharePoint Online Pages, Lists, and Libraries (Document, Assets, and Site Pages) IAW DISA policies and strategies.
