The Division of Technology Services (DTS) is seeking an experienced Technical Support Specialist III to support enterprise endpoint management solutions across the organization.
This role works cross-functionally with IT teams and state agencies to design, implement, secure, and maintain Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) solutions.
This position is currently a hybrid of both in-office and telework days, 2 days a week required in office and any mandatory in-office meetings.
The Office location is at the Taylorsville State Office Building, 4715 S 2700 W, Salt Lake City, Utah.
Please note, a position's eligibility for telework is established by agency management and is subject to change at their discretion at any time and for any reason.
This job may be filled at either of the levels listed below. (Rate as listed or in accordance with DHRM Rules for current state employees.)
Technical Support Specialist III, $34.06 - $49.80

The Agency
The Division of Technology Services (DTS) is a division of the newly formed Department of Government Operations (DGO).
DTS is responsible for providing IT services to state agencies (Department of Health, Workforce Services, Natural Resources, etc.).
We offer a wide range of services, including Cloud and Datacenter Hosting, Networking, Desktop and Helpdesk Support, Enterprise Security, and business services.
We offer myriad products across these services, such as data warehousing, business intelligence, desktop-as-a-service, e-mail, VoIP, etc.

Health Insurance - Public Employee Health Program (PEHP):

Utah Retirement Systems (URS): - Employees hired on or after than 7/1/2011 and have never been in the URS retirement system have two options for retirement in the Tier II System. Employer contributions to your 401(k) are vested after four years.
- Employees who have any service credit with an employer covered by the Utah Retirement Systems prior to 7/1/2011 are in Tier I Public Employees System.
- Tier 2 Hybrid Retirement System. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary between both plans (pension and 401(k))
- Tier 2 Defined Contribution Plan. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary to a 401(k) plan only.
- Employees who have any service credit with an employer covered by the Utah Retirement Systems prior to 7/1/2011 are in Tier I Public Employees System.
Paid Time Off: - Annual leave and sick leave are accrued at 4 hours per pay period each (4 hours annual, 4 hours sick).
- Annual leave increases with years of service.
- There are also 12 paid holidays
Requirements
- Design, deploy, configure, and support UEM solutions for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and servers.
- Implement device provisioning, enrollment, configuration, and compliance policies.
- Develop and maintain security and configuration profiles aligned with industry best practices.
- Automate endpoint management tasks including software deployment, patching, and configuration updates.
- Monitor and troubleshoot endpoint management systems to ensure performance and availability.
- Support endpoint security initiatives and participate in incident response activities.
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate UEM solutions with identity, security, and helpdesk systems.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and follow established change management processes.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and IT support teams on UEM-related issues and procedures.
- Participate in an on-call escalation rotation as required.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience managing enterprise endpoint management solutions.
- Proficiency with UEM platforms such as Microsoft Intune, VMware Workspace ONE, or Jamf Pro.
- Strong understanding of endpoint security, including encryption, authentication, and access controls.
- Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, Bash, AppleScript, etc.).
- Knowledge of Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android device management.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of endpoint management or related experience.
- Experience supporting secure or regulated environments.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, SAFe, etc.).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Modern Desktop Administrator, VMware Digital Workspace, CompTIA Mobility+).
- Understanding of Zero Trust security principles and state or federal compliance standards.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to solve complex problems, communicate clearly, and manage work independently.
- Experience with ServiceNow IT Service Management (ITSM) modules, including creating, managing, and resolving incidents, problems, and change requests.

- Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
- Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
- A hybrid of both in-office (2 days a week required in office and any mandatory in-office meetings) and remote work days (work must be performed in Utah) is available.
