Job Description

Summary

This Teacher Aide position involves supporting classroom teachers in a state health and human services program to help children build positive attitudes, reach their learning potential, and develop strong relationships in a supportive environment.

The role requires working as part of a team in a treatment center focused on children's well-being.

It's a good fit for patient individuals with a high school education and some experience working with kids, especially those interested in education or child development.

Key Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • For Teacher Aide 6: No prior experience required
  • For Teacher Aide 7: One year of experience as a Teacher Aide 6 or equivalent
  • For Teacher Aide E8: Two years of experience as a Teacher Aide, including one year at level 7 or equivalent
  • Ability to assist in curriculum development and child evaluation
  • Skills in building positive relationships with children and serving as a role model
  • Experience functioning in a multidisciplinary treatment team environment

The teacher aide is required to assist in establishing a program that encourages the development of positive group and individual attitudes and each child’s individual academic potential.

This necessitates assisting the classroom teacher in the involvement of an ongoing investigation and evaluation of new ideas in curriculum and materials.

Teacher Aide assists in the investment in heavily developing corrective interpersonal relationships with pupils and is expected to be an appropriate adult figure for child identification and modeling.

In a multidiscipline treatment center, the aide is expected to learn to function effectively as part of a fully integrated treatment milieu.

    No specific type or amount is required.

    Teacher Aide 7
    One year of experience equivalent to a Teacher Aide 6.

    Teacher Aide E8
    Two years of experience equivalent to a Teacher Aide, including one year equivalent to a Teacher Aide 7.
