Full Job Description

You will serve as a Tap and Employment Readiness Specialist in the Navy Installations Command (CNIC) Fleet and Family Readiness Department of NSA ANNAPOLIS.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Facilitating and providing the full scope of operational management for Transition Assistance Program (TAP) services, that assists transitioning military members, their families, retirees, reservists, and Department of Defense (DoD) civilian personnel; 2) Coordinating with multiple agencies, the DoD, Department of Labor (DOL), Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), in accordance with DoDI 1332.25: TAP for Military Personnel (September 26, 2019), OPNAVINST 1900.2D: TAP (May 1, 2023), NAVADMIN 09/21, BUPERS INST 1900.8E, CH-1 (Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty, March 9, 2022), and the Skill-bridge NAVADMIN (March 2023); 3) Supporting transition needs, including relocation assistance, personal financial management, career support, higher education options, and family employment resources; 4) Facilitating classes on the application of professional analytical skills and negotiation techniques; 5) Using various career assessment tools to include ONET Interest Profiler, GAP Analysis to support client needs; 6) Attending and hosting employee panels, job fairs, etc.

to support target audiences; 7) Meeting the requirements in Dodi 1342.22 for Military Family Readiness services that support retention and operational readiness of the warfighter to assist in navigating the unique context of the military lifestyle; and 8) Volunteer Coordination in accordance with OPNAVINST 5380.1D, overseeing the recruitment, screening, placement, support, and evaluation of volunteers.

  • You will oversee the recruitment, screening, placement, orientation, support, recognitions, and evaluation of Fleet and Family Support Center volunteers.
  • You will maintain a library or resource center of current TAP and FERP information, curriculum, and resources and provide service members with authorized physical or digital materials.
  • You will support transition needs, including relocation assistance, personal financial management, career support, higher education options, and family employment resources.
