Full Job Description

This National Guard position is for a T5 INTEGRATED PRIMARY PREVENTION SPECIALIST (PREV WF), Position Description Number T0062P01 and is part of the SC J11, South Carolina Army National Guard.

AREA OF CONSIDERATION (AOC): This is a Title 5 "Excepted Service " position under the authority of Title V, P.L.

114-328, Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA)", and is open to US citizens interested in helping the Department of the Army meet our mission requirements. This position is open to Area 1 Only.

Area 1: Current employees (Tenure 1 and 2 / internal to the Agency) Area 2: All other applicants (external to the Agency) Applicants who meet one of the DoD Priority Placement Program categories below are eligible to apply with this preference.

General Experience: Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position that included at least 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences.

Or Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field that included at least 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences.

Or Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

Specialized Experience - Must have 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.

Experience, education or training analyzing problems, identifying significant factors, gathering pertinent data and recognizing solutions; preparing reports, plans, policies and various correspondence; evaluating objectives and develop plans to facilitate the availability and effective utilization of various social science resources.

Must have knowledge of the organization and its mission and utilized the organizational staff procedures.

Experience applying analytical and evaluative techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of social science program operations carried out by administrative or professional personnel, or substantive administrative support functions.

For Supervisory Positions Specialized Experience: Must have experience in managing the function of the work to be performed.

Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES: 1. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

The incumbent of this position description must have at a minimum, a completed National Agency Check (NAC) prior to position assignment. 2.

Must be able to obtain required certifications, as applicable. 3.

This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.

An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. 4.

Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. *5.

Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day. 6.

May require travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments. 7.

The work may require the incumbent to drive a motor vehicle; if so, and an appropriate valid driver's license is mandatory. 8.

This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration.

This designation will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved in advance by the TAG. Major Duties:

This position is located within the Integrated Primary Prevention Section at the Joint Forces Headquarters- State (JFHQ-St) (S/T/DC).

Serves as the Integrated Primary Prevention Specialist leading small teams under the direction of the State Integrated Primary Prevention Officer (IPPO).

Responsible for executing and providing oversight for the state integrated primary prevention operations.

Position provides critical advice, assistance, and technical guidance to the JFHQ-State to include subject matter experts/state and national level councils, committees and working groups and assists the IPPO in response to inquiries.

Work involves supervising or performing work required to manage or direct one or more programs, including appropriate supporting social science service organizations.
