Full Job Description

Systems Administrator
The Department of Administration's Division of Enterprise Applications (DEA) is seeking a Systems Administrator to join our team. We are in growth mode, and it is an exciting time to be a contributing member to SC Enterprise Information System (SCEIS)! SCEIS is the backbone of our business processes and ultimately empowers decision makers to improve government for the citizens. In this role you will support critical IT operations by managing and maintaining cloud SaaS applications and SAP systems, ensuring reliable performance and security. This role will focus on administering, configuring, troubleshooting, and securing systems to meet organizational needs. Provide foundational support for business processes through effective system administration and documentation.

This position is onsite in Columbia, SC.

Responsibilities of the Systems Administrator:
  • Administer, configure, and monitor cloud based SaaS applications (iValua, Atlassian, SAP BTP, etc.) to ensure optimal usability and security.
  • Perform landscape administration, transport management, and monitoring of SAP systems.
  • Manage user roles. authorizations, and profile configurations, ensuring compliance with SAP security standards and organizational policies which protect application data.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues in cloud SaaS applications and SAP systems, following established procedures to maintain system reliability and minimize business disruptions.
  • Document system configurations, changes, and security protocols. Provide reporting and analysis of key KPI's to identify trends and uncover any potential issues or areas of improvement.
  • Perform other system administration duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in information technology systems, computer science, or a related field. Relevant experience may substitute for the bachelor’s degree on a year-by-year basis.
  • At least one year of experience in a system administration focused IT role or role-based access control of various applications is required.
Additional Requirements:
  • Moderate knowledge of information technology systems analysis, design, testing, and maintenance techniques.
  • Moderate knowledge of computer hardware, software, operating systems, networking, and other IT tools and resources.
  • Foundational knowledge of cloud SaaS application/ERP system administration principles (i.e. SAP Basis/SAP Security), along with basic skills in system configuration, troubleshooting, and documentation.
  • SQL proficiency for querying relational databases, analyzing data, and supporting data-driven processes.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate information and propose solution ideas from requirements.
  • Communication skills, both oral and written, to communicate effectively to customers and team members.
  • Position may be required to work evenings and weekends.
  • Position may be required to report to work during emergency situations.

Qualifications

  • SAP technical and or functional experience is preferred.
