This job is about leading a team of surveyors for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, where you'll guide them in performing various land surveys to support road and infrastructure projects.
You'll make sure the team uses tools to measure distances, elevations, and boundaries accurately, and handle data processing with computer systems.
It's a great fit for someone with hands-on surveying experience who enjoys supervising others and working outdoors in a structured government role.

In this position, you will oversee the daily decision-making processes related to the field surveys assigned to your team.
This encompasses a range of responsibilities, including the technical aspects of survey operations, such as calculating field traverses, right-of-way (R/W) measurements, and bridge stakeouts.
You will provide guidance to your crew regarding their daily tasks and work efforts, ensuring that they are aligned with project objectives.
For significant decisions concerning survey requirements, you will consult with the Chief of Surveys or Project Managers to ensure that all actions taken are in accordance with project standards and expectations.Interested in learning more?

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days per week.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Oil City. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
