This job involves working as part of a survey team to research land ownership records, measure property boundaries and features in the field, and help with surveys on state game lands in Pennsylvania's Southcentral Region.
It's a mix of office work like reviewing deeds and wills, and outdoor tasks using surveying tools, all under the guidance of a licensed surveyor.
A good fit would be someone detail-oriented who enjoys hands-on fieldwork, has basic math skills, and can work independently or with a team in a government setting focused on wildlife areas.
Are you a motivated individual with a keen eye for detail? The Pennsylvania Game Commission is seeking a Land Research Survey Technician for the Southcentral Region.
If you are passionate about collecting, analyzing, and evaluating land data while ensuring efficient and accurate surveys, this role is an ideal fit for you.
It presents a fantastic opportunity for professional growth in a collaborative environment that prioritizes innovation.
With your solid understanding of surveying principles and your ability to work both independently and as part of a team, you will become a valuable asset to our organization.

This role involves conducting technical land survey work under the close guidance of a Professional Licensed Surveyor, primarily within the designated region but also across the Commonwealth as needed.
As a vital member of a survey crew, the position encompasses a range of field, office, and research activities essential for completing title-boundary, easement, and topographic surveys on Pennsylvania State Game Lands and similar locations.
Responsibilities include performing land research in county offices to gather ownership information about current, past, and neighboring landowners, which entails constructing title chains, examining wills and estates, and abstracting deeds.
Once ownership is established, the position requires executing technical tasks to measure existing field locations of both natural and artificial features, property boundaries, and the precise dimensions of land areas.
