Summary

This job is about helping people with questions on retail food safety, managing registrations and payments for food businesses through an online system, and handling office tasks like answering phones and organizing files.

Full Job Description

Do you excel at customer service and have strong administrative skills? Do you have attention to detail and like working with documents? Do you enjoy talking with people? Then this is the job for you! Serving as a Support Specialist for the Retail Food Safety Program, your responsibilities will include:
  • Serving as the first line of contact for the public, consultants, and outside agencies regarding the Retail Food Safety program for telephone callers.
  • Assisting food establishments (restaurants, hospitals, etc.) with registering their username and business through the online portal, including making payments and other site management duties.
  • Researching and providing information concerning food safety questions and issues.
  • Performing receptionist duties by answering the telephone and greeting visitors with an amicable and helpful attitude. This includes forwarding calls/concerns to the appropriate staff, agency, or industry partner.
  • Performing office/administrative duties; organizing, developing, and implementing procedures for recording, routing, and filing documentation.
  • Assisting with ordering supplies, collecting information from inspectors, and providing follow-up to our customers.
  • Assisting with the collection and creating receipts for funds/fees collected.

Requirements
