Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes using an official business credit card or government credit card to purchase supplies for an organization; conducting extensive searches to locate cost effective supplies and resolving supply problems such as inventory discrepancies or locating available substitutes.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).

Major Duties:

  • Review requisitions for required justification, completeness, and adherence to regulations and requirements.
  • Process requisitions with a manual or automated system.
  • Purchase items under Blanket Purchase Agreements and the Government Credit Card Program.
  • Solicit quotations and make decisions on source based on price quote, availability or acceptable substitute and ability to make delivery date.
  • Review and reconcile monthly bill with purchases.
  • Maintain file of purchase requests and follow up on orders not received.
