Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves managing supplies and inventory for the Navy, including tasks like checking stock levels, preparing shipments, conducting inspections, and resolving any issues with materials.
It's a hands-on role supporting military and other customers by ensuring everything is organized and available when needed.
A good fit would be someone with experience in logistics or warehouse work who is detail-oriented and good at problem-solving.
You will serve as a Supply Technician in the Material Management Department of NAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER NORFOLK.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing some of the following duties: 1) Conducting inventory selection, statistical sample allocation, loading/unloading data and generating reports.
2) Identifying and maintaining customer program requirements against stock availability.
3) Coordinating supply actions with shipping personnel and providing necessary paperwork and packaging of shipments.
4) Conducting quality assurance inspections to assist in resolving problems and performing corrective actions. 5) Scheduling and conducting physical inventories for various materials.
6) Conducting causative research to resolve inventory and material discrepancies.
