Job Description

Summary

This job involves managing ammunition supplies for the U.S.

Army at Fort Dix, New Jersey, including tracking inventory, processing requests for ammunition, preparing reports, and conducting inventories to ensure everything is accounted for.

It's a temporary position lasting up to 13 months, ideal for someone with experience in logistics or supply management who pays close attention to detail and works well in a structured military environment.

About the Position: This position is located with the 404th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, at Fort Dix, NJ This position is a Term Not to Exceed 13 months.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) processing ammunition transactions to include adding/deleting stock, posting issues and turn-ins, and transfers; 2) resolving inventory discrepancies through research and analysis; 3) maintaining supply files.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-05).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).

Major Duties:

  • Serve as a Supply Technician performing stock record accounting for ammunition.
  • Receive training ammunition forecasts that reflect ammunition requirements.
  • Prepare a variety of monthly and quarterly ammunition related reports.
  • Schedule and participate in the quarterly ammunition inventories to verify the general condition, quantity, and location of stocked ammunition.
  • Receive unit-initiated requests for issue and live/residue turn in of ammunition.
  • Compute and maintain information such as receipts, issues and transfers, expenditures, current inventory, and similar data.
