Job Description

Summary

This job involves managing everyday supply tasks like receiving, storing, and shipping gear and clothing for the Navy, while helping customers with fittings and inquiries.

You'll use computers and equipment to track inventory and process orders in a logistics center.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN in the Supply Management Department of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR JACKSONVILLE.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector using basic job-relevant information systems and/or software applications, such as word processing, spreadsheets, automated research tools, database applications, and the Internet; understanding basic inventory management concepts such as receipt processing, general inventory, requirements forecasting, procurement scheduling, and disposal of material; and assisting customers with routine requests.

  • You will perform day-to-day aspects of gear issue operations, including receipt processing, general inventory, and shipping.
  • You will assist customers with the size and fit of clothing items.
  • You will use automated systems to record forms, records, and manage information regarding packing, shipping, and inventory.
  • You will assist customers with inquiries regarding supply, delivery, and related topics.
  • You will prepare and submit requisitions via various supply applications.
  • You will use forklifts and other material handling equipment to handle materials/inventory.
