Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes ordering and monitoring the status of supplies; utilizing automated supply systems to input or retrieve supply data; and assist visitors or telephone inquiries on supply issues.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Supply Chain Management or Logistics.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9.

Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).

Major Duties:

  • Determine stock levels needed for non-recurring, specialized items based on usage, inventory, project demands, seasonal demands, changing customer needs, and projected depletion.
  • Perform property accountability and management.
  • Reconcile property record balances using property inventory balances.
  • Correct routine discrepancies (e.g., recording errors, errors in properly identifying equipment).
  • Perform document control work involved in the processing of supply transactions.
  • Edit documents for urgent, critical shortage items or other items requiring special handling.
