About the Position: This position is located at Bassett Army Community Hospital, Fort Wainwright, AK.

Federal employees in Alaska are currently entitled to receive a 1.49% Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) in addition to the base salary. This is subject to change.

Basic Requirements for Supply Technician Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing an automated supply system software, monitoring the department supply budget, and reviewing supply requests for accuracy.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Supply Chain Management or Logistics.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9.

Add the two percentages. Major Duties:

  • Make dental supply purchases using automated systems.
  • Allocate quarterly funding for each clinic based on available funds.
  • Screen supply requests for appropriateness.
  • Receive supply transactions processed by clinic supply personnel.
  • Maintain files on justifications and approval for supplies and equipment.
  • Prepare requisitions for expendable and non-expendable supplies.
