About the Position: This position is located within the Defense Health Agency, Assistance Director-Support, Medical Logistics Directorate, Enterprise Operations Division and it is located in Fort Detrick, Maryland OR San Antonio, Texas.

Leave accrual negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1.) analyzing logistics processes to recommend improvements to automated systems; 2.) managing system changes by validating compliance with policies; and 3.) representing the agency on logistics systems matters.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Major Duties:

  • Represent Defense Health Agency (DHA) on panels, committees, boards, and workgroups for sustaining current medical logistics information systems and developing future systems.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of standard automated medical logistics systems and interfaces.
  • Recommend improvements in health system support to maximize the effectiveness of automated medical logistics systems.
  • Manage proposed system change requirements from supported business entities and organizations.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, assisting the DHA Medical Logistics (MEDLOG) Enterprise, internal and external agency customers for performing studies and analysis of logistics data.
  • Coordinate the integration of new and existing logistics business processes.
  • Review business operations policies and procedures to reduce operating costs and minimize waste.
  • Analyze information systems that interface with Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) to find areas for improvement.
