Supply Manager I
The Department of Administration's Division of State Agency Support Services is seeking a Supply Manager I to join the State Fleet Management team. State Fleet Management is responsible for centralized oversight of a comprehensive statewide fleet management program of all state-owned fleet vehicles for the state of SC. In this position, you will provide support to the Operations Team and State Fleet Management by receiving, inspecting, and accepting or rejecting state-purchased vehicles.
Responsibilities of the Supply Manager I:- Receive and inspect new vehicles from dealers for state agencies to ensure they meet specifications, comply with purchase orders, and are fully operational. maintain and coordinate documentation and vehicle pickup to owning agencies and dealers.
Schedule appointments for the authorized return of leased vehicles to the fleet yard. Inspect all operable vehicles and classify conditions according to established criteria.
Concerns regarding the condition of returned vehicles are communicated with the Lease Coordinator to determine whether they will be reserved, reissued, or disposed of, as well as to assess chargebacks for any excessive damages, particularly for Master Lease vehicles.
- Issue new, reserve, and reissued Lease Fleet vehicles to customers. This includes completing property receipts for each vehicle with accurate data, ensuring vehicles are clean and roadworthy, and maintaining accurate records in the inventory spreadsheet until the vehicles are leased.
- Maintain and ensure adequate inventory of vehicles on fleet yard. Coordinate to assure the sale-readiness of vehicles marked for disposal, and process approved vehicles to Surplus Property.
- Coordinate and perform installation and activation of telematic devices on fleet vehicles in accordance with established procedures and vendor specifications.
- Maintain proper security measures of state-owned vehicles and other assets on the receiving lot grounds during the review period.
Requirements
A high school diploma and work experience directly related to the area of employment.
Additional Requirements:- Must have strong attention to detail and be able to prioritize tasks.
- Computer skills are necessary; must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, & Outlook.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle systems and sub systems is needed. Such knowledge may be acquired through service in governmental transportation, vehicle dealerships, or vehicle rental agencies.
- Must be able to exercise tactful verbal communication with other agency employees at all levels, as well as external entities such as repair vendors and vehicle dealerships.
- Must possess a valid SC Class D Driver's license.
- Position may require overnight travel.
- Position may require employee to work evenings and weekends.
- Position requires on-call shifts and call back.
- Position requires routine driver duties.
- Position requires frequent stooping and/or bending.
- Position requires frequent lifting: 50 lbs.
- Position may be required to report to work during emergency situations.
