Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team to manage supplies and logistics for naval operations in Japan, including analyzing supply processes, tracking material needs, and coordinating purchases from U.S.

or local sources to support ship repairs. It's a supervisory role focused on ensuring efficient delivery of materials while following policies and managing a diverse workforce.

A good fit would be someone with experience in supply chain management, team leadership, and handling international logistics, who is comfortable with overseas assignments and limited medical access.

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SUPPLY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR YOKOSUKA . ***ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED.

Please see Additional Information section below.*** Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Technical knowledge of personnel management and labor relations procedures. Planning and management of supply programs and systems.

Technical knowledge of supply functions, funding, and scheduling. Skills in planning, coordinating, and organizing resources associated with supervisory responsibilities.

Ability to interpret policies and regulation; develop policies and procedures. Management skills to coordinate and lead diverse workforce.

  • You will perform functional analysis of material support, including studies of supply operations to evaluate effectiveness in terms of customer response, process control and overall management techniques.
  • You will develop material management indicators and performance standards for measuring delivery and efficiency of material operations supporting Ship Repair Facility SRF and Japan Regional Maintenance Center JRMC.
  • You will maintain, compile and disseminate requisition and procurement status on all material requirements for the SRF-JRMC.
  • You will determine procurement sources for requested material, either for CONUS or local Japanese vendors.
  • You will provide the leadership necessary to maintain an effective and productive work force and ensure a continuous flow and exchange of information between management and employees.
  • You will hear and resolve complaints from employees, referring group grievances and more serious unresolved complaints to higher level supervisor or manager.
  • You will establish proper organizational structure to accomplish the division's workload and provide most effective use of personnel through position management.
