Base salary range: $147,649 - $221,900

Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following: Basic Requirements: Degree: Social work.
Must fulfill all of the requirements for the master's degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
AND In addition to meeting the basic requirement, you must have: Education: There is no substitution of education for specialized experience for this position.
Experience: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level.
To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position, and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled.
Some examples of this qualifying experience are: Experience that demonstrates knowledge of psycho-social, cultural, and economic human behavior dynamics, as they relate to patients faced with acute or chronic illness.
Experience in demonstrating extensive and advanced professional knowledge as well as a thorough and in depth understanding of social work as it relates to correctional healthcare.
Experience in the planning, implementation and evaluation of clinical programs and services, assuring compliance with regulatory requirements and appropriate resources for the delivery of social work programs.

The Chief Social Worker serves as the national technical expert in the field of social work. Provides advisory services to field social workers, institutions, regional and Central Office personnel.
The Chief Social Worker provides clinical and administrative leadership, education, and objectives that support the health services mission of the Federal Bureau of Prisons as defined by the Medical Director/Assistant Director, Health Services Division and the National Health Services Director, Health Services Division.
